Mark Potter

After graduating in architectural training from Cambridge University, Mark has worked in the business for over four decades. Since opening the doors to Potter & Holmes (now Potter, Church and Holmes – www.pch-a.com) in 1987, Mark has designed and built hundreds of very successful projects, which reflect his extensive, diverse experience in the field. His particular interest is in architecture with a social purpose and he focuses on what he calls ‘Havens of hope’’ – property for those in need – and affordable starter homes, and Increasingly he is involved in the design of churches. Mark sits on the Franco-British Union of Architects (FBUA) and was President in 2000, member of the FBUA, and Chair and trustee of Churches Together in Clapham, an ecumenical group of 12 local churches supporting a day centre for the homeless, a centre for refugees, and night shelters for about 40 rough sleepers, and also support to revellers on Friday and Saturday nights. He has recently been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
